Early spring. Nothing but pussy willows blooms in Chicago. Two weeks ago I brought in several branches. The branches produced roots and I planted them in a large clay pot on the window-sill. Their delicate shoots reach for the sun which is still too cold for the willows outside.

a nice haiku, Natalia. It makes use of metre,
imagery, makoto, and yugen (depth and mystery),
amd has more than one tier of meaning.

Dear Robert,

Thank you. This haiku is very dear to me. This is the ritual that I've
performed since I was a child. In Russia Palm Sunday is called Willow Sunday. On Willow Sunday people bring willow twigs home because their delicate flowers symbolize resurrection.
